In association with the numbers 10, 9, 3 and 2.
There were many great performances from Staveley Miners Welfare at the weekend. in particular Captain Jamie Smith, Matt Thorpe and Michael Trench but it was once again goal machine Jordan Turner who stole the headlines in a feisty affair which finished with 10 players facing 9 and a 3 - 2 victory for “the Welfare” thanks to a brace from Turner and a Pirlo-esque free kick stuck into the top corner from Josh Scully.
Staveley Miners Welfare 3 - 2 Ashton Athletic
The draw for the next round has yet to be made, fingers crossed we get Las Vegas away!
Next Up….
Nostell Miners Welfare visit Inkersall Road on Wednesday 25th September.
Currently on a terrible run of form Nostell so far this season have played eleven and lost eleven.
New Manager Darren Holmes recently blooded as many as nine new first team players and despite the results, they have only failed to score in two games and mustn't be taken lightly…they wont lose every game.
Previously at Inkersall Road
We have a good record against Nostell, having played four games previously winning three of those and losing only once. One of those wins was actually an away game played here instead of Nostells Crofton Community Centre Ground. That game was in 2011/12 and finished 1-4 to Staveley, goals from Simon Barrowclough (2) Shaun Tuton, and Ryan Damms.
Kick off on Wednesday is 7:45pm and as always its £5 for Adults £3 for concessions and Chesterfield Season Ticket holders get in for nowt.
Up the Welfare!
