Before then though…

Toolstation began their sponsorship of the Northern Counties East League last season but have been involved with the Western League for a number of seasons now and Saturday will see representatives from both leagues go head to head for the first ever Toolstation Cup, and we are proud that Inkersall Road has been chosen to stage the event.

So…

In the NCL Corner its…

Knaresborough Town

“Town” hail from the West Riding of Yorkshire (near Harrogate) and have existed in various forms since 1902, notably achieving a 100% record in the York League in 1905.

They entered the NCL in 2012 and have since achieved an 8th and 6th place in Division One and carried off last seasons League Cup courtesy of a 4-2 penalty shoot out win over local rivals eccleshill united at Bradford Citys Valley Parade ground after a 2-2 draw after extra time.

So far this preseason Knaresborough have played 3 won 1 and lost 2, one of those defeats an entertaining 4-5 defeat to a Blackburn Rovers 11.

Colin heath looks like the main man to watch as he has scored 4 of his teams 7 goals so far.

Up to bat for the Western League is ….

Bristol Manor Farm

Who were formed in the 1960s, moving into their current home “The Creek” in 1967 following the Port of Bristol Authority sports and social club (fc?) decision to move to new premises.

A permanent base allowed Farm to join the somerset Senior League and after a meteoric rise saw them enter the Western league setup (which is similar to the NCL in that there is a first and premier division) in 1977.

The 2011/12 season was the most successful in the history of the club. The GFA Challenge Trophy after beating Shortwood United 5-0 in a thrilling final. Was followed three days later with another cup triumph against Willand Rovers (remember them Staveley Fans?) in extra time to lift the Toolstation League Les Phillips League Cup.

Last season Bristol Manor Farm finished 2nd in the Premier league with 26 wins and 8 draws from 40 games giving them a points total of 86.
