This isn't a maths test....

After making progress in the Sheffield Cup thanks to a 2-1 win over Worsborough Bridge (goals from Luke Beatson and Kurtis Morely) Staveley Miners Welfare travel North to Bradford where they take on table topping….

Thackley - 12th October - 3pm - away.

The “Denny Boys” are founder members of the NCEL joining the Premier division when the Yorkshire league merged with the Midland league in 1982 and, are the only club to have played in the Premier league in  every single last one of the 30 odd seasons since then and now.

There best season was in 93/94 when they narrowly missed out on promotion to Stocksbridge Park Steels, both teams finished on 74 points from 38 games the Bracken Moor lads unfortunately for Thackley had a better goal difference of a whopping +18.

Previously

At Dennyfield, we’ve played 5 times losing twice drawing twice and (quick quiz) winning?….  Once. In 2011 1-2 with goals from Kyle Fores-Chambers and Jordan Eagers.

So far….

Theres no way to sugar coat this…Saturday will be a tough afternoon for us as Thackley have only dropped points in two of their 12 games so far with ten wins and two defeats.

But... what every long shot, come from behind underdog will tell you is this... (click the video)

Reading between the lines on some of their website articles however I get the impression they are as surprised about how they are doing as anyone.

Postcode for Dennyfield  is Ainsbury Avenue -  BD10 0TL.

See you there and, as allways Up the Welfare!
