In 1962 the club you know as Staveley Miners Welfare were taking their first steps in what we now call the "Sunday League" after a relaxing of the "No football on Sundays please" policy by the Football Association two years earlier.

Initially playing under the name of "Nags Head FC" in nearby Barrowhill they were accepted into the Mansfield League and in 1965 they transferred to the newly created Chesterfield Sunday League. Where in 1989 they decided to form a Saturday side and the rest as they say is history....

This bit of the blog will hopefully build into a half decent review of all that came before....and is dedicated to the players, management, fans and anyone else who has helped in the journey from then to now. - Scroll down and Click the pictures for more
